TEMPLE EMANU-EL OF EAST MEADOW

torah march - sunday, june 10th from 9am - 12:30pm
Location: Start at Temple Emanu-El

Come join with us on June 10th for a very special day as we deconsecrate the sanctuary at Temple Emanu-El.
Meet at TEEM for breakfast 9 am. Then a short service will be followed by a march of the Torah from Temple Emanu-El to Temple B’nai Torah. All congregants who would like to participate will be able to march with us and even carry a Torah for a portion of the walk, as desired.
The Torahs and the congregation will be met at Temple B’nai Torah and be welcomed in. There will be a very short service where we will light the eternal flame. This will all be followed by a luncheon at Temple B’nai Torah. The Special Occasion Band will participate in these festivities as well.
It is very important that we know how many people will be coming and who would like to carry the Torah or march alongside us so that we can be well prepared. There will be stations along the route so that all participants will be given a designated section where they will carry the Torah. (You can walk all or some of the approx. 4.5 mile march)

Please CLICK HERE for the flyer, and RSVP by June 4th!!!

the New Social Action/Social Justice Committee - This Spring
Are you looking for a way to make a difference and to participate in Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World)?
We are excited to announce the formation of the Social Action/Social Justice Committee of the New TBT.
Here you will find opportunities to help those in our community who are in need, and to learn about and advocate for social justice issues that are important to Reform Judaism.
If you would like to sign up to join the Social Action/Social Justice Committee, or if you are curious but not sure yet, please send us your name, email address and phone number to Rona Kauffman at ronakauffman@yahoo.com or
Patti Nacht at prn512@aol.com so we can keep you informed of any upcoming meetings.
We are planning on starting to meet sometime this Spring so we can get started on some of our Summer and Fall season initiatives.  We look forward to meeting and working with you all!

Reunion Service - Friday, june 1st at 7PM
Location: Temple Emanu-El

We will be holding a reunion Shabbat service on Friday, June 1st at 7:00 PM.  This special service is meant to be an opportunity for our college-age (and older) children to come together one last time with their temple community, share some memories and say goodbye.  Several current and former teachers from our Religious School plan to be in attendance. We hope you will encourage your daughters & sons to attend!
